05 Corolla S, New Fuel Pump!
Hard to believe! At only 12,470 miles, my '05 Corolla S needed a new fuel pump! It's been making a slight but audible humming noise eminating from the rear of the car for about a week and yesterday it was a little hard to start. My first thought was fuel pump. I took it into the dealer yesterday morning and sure as Saddam, it was a faulty fuel pump.......on a Toyota???!!! The service writer said they have a service bulletin about it and he anticipates that he'll be doing a lot of fuel pumps soon. So, if you start to hear that humming noise, you'll know what to look for now.

I wish I knew who to direct a letter to so Toyota would get a recall going on these. I lost mine too at 9,400 miles. My wife and kids where stranded on the highway 3 hours from home. The Dealer picked up the tow charges and provided us a loaner car. They could tell when I walked in I was just waiting for someone to F_ _ k with me.

Very sorry to hear that. BTW, if we had to pay for this repair out of warranty, it would cost $653.24! That was the warranty charge on my invoice today! I, of course, paid zero. Thank God for warranties.
