new 94 thunderbird owner

Hi everyone. I just bought a 94 thunderbird about 2 weeks ago. The body is in pretty good shape. It has 125,000 miles on it (how long do these cars usualy last?). I'm pleased with it so far, though there are a few issues. I am happy to find out that the rumbling that I hear when I am accelerating moderately is "normal", I guess I need to get a special type of trans fluid. Can someone give me some options and prices of transmission fluid to fix this noise? Also, my car is an automatic and the button on the shifter is broken. This is a 10-20 dollar part but I'm not sure how to take the old shifter out and install the new one. It seams that this is a simple job, I'm just not sure how to do it.

Anyway, I'm happy to be part of this forum, and I hope that I can contribute something possitive to it. Thanks.

Warren

Re: new 94 thunderbird owner

Welcome Warren. Check out the tech help thread at the top of the page for a lot of good transmission info. Just remember it is an info thread and not a place to post questions. thx.
