Jbl Bp1200.1

Anyone know if this is a good amp. i found it for $250 at www.simplycheap.com. The rms rating is 1200-1400 watts, but on this site it said that the maximum output for this amp is 2400 watts. Anyone know if its true? Will i need to upgrade my alternator for this amp. It takes 114 amps maximum power.

this amp is VERY good. for the money, i think its the best amp you can buy. RMS is rated at 1200watt @ 12.5volts. this amps are also underrated. give it 14.4 volts and it should make about 1400+ watts.
an alternator upgrade is not required, but get at least (2) 1 farad for it. being class D, it will put less strain on the alternator than other similar amps. i would love to have one of those JBL amps. just make sure you can trust simplycheap.com

yeah thats the cheapest price i've ever seen for that amp!!! i thought 340 was a great deal.. sheesh. hopefully they are a good company to deal with.. the amp is amazing though it should even run 1 ohm fine..

But I agree, JBL amps are pretty nice and the price is dirt cheap, but be carefull when buying something thats "too good of a deal" because you can get stung big time. Does this place offer a warranty? What about a return policy? Have you sent them any emails to see how long they take to respond? Do they seem knowledgebale in their responses? They are all things you need to consider and not just who gives you the cheapest price -- because when trouble comes, they could be no where to be found, then you will have to ask yourself if you got a really good deal or not.
