Tires

Need some recomendations on tires. I have a 94 4door 4.3 vortec. I have a set of BFG All-Terrain KO ready to go on the truck. Anyone have these and how do you like them. Are there any better tires?

I have them and I love them. Just keep the pressure at 35psi and they won't wear funny and you will need to rotate them every 5K miles at the most, sometimes 3K miles if you can. Again I love them but other people may not cause they do give a stiff ride. Good luck

I had a set of those, excellent wear for the amount of driving i do. The thing i disliked about them though was at slow speeds in mud and wet snow they clog and become a slick. If BFG could make the tire so it cleans out better it would be a great tire. On another note, on dry pavement, sand, and trail riding they are great. Just dont like how easy they clog.

Re: Tires

I'm going to need winters pretty soon. I live in Calgary Alberta and we get a LOT of snow here. Any recommendations? Sounds like those BFGs would be no good here.

I have towed 2 sleds behind my Blazer through 2 feet of snow and not had any issues. This past weekend if you guys saw the weather with all the rain in new hampshire???????? well if you can imagine getting 9+ inches of rain on back country dirt roads, you will know that those roads are now mud and rock, I did not have one issue and I went through numerous puddles that were a few feet deep, went through mud that splashed and caked onto my windshield and doors and everywhere else. Went through a few mud and grass fields in 4X4 and when I was done or even when I decided to stop for a few minutes and stretch my legs, not once was there any mud or grass or anything stuck in the tires. Not once did I slip and slide when I did not want to. I am having a great time with these tires and I will either buy them again or I may take a chance on the Revo's. One more thing, if you don't have the funds for the expensive tires, check out Khumos. I had there Venture A/T 825 tire for 2 years, put 40K miles on them with probably another 20K miles left on them and absolutely loved them!!!!!!! I would have bought them again but I wanted the stronger sidewall tire. Please check www.tirerack.com the website has the tires rated by the consumers not the companies. Good luck guys

Re: Tires

After months of comparing tires myself , I chose General grabbers AT2 's . They are a little more aggressive than the BFG AT and they clean great at low speed , at least in the red clay mud . Rob
