I'd have to disconnect the battery so I wouldn't run it down. They eventually turned off and no problems. Now the same thing happened and the blue brights indicator is out and the brights are stuck on again, all the time, unless I disconnect the battery. I think it's just the switch in the turnsignal stalk (which also controls the brights function) actually inside the steering column. Is this easy, can I do it, am I on the right track? (2) HOW IN THE HELL DO YOU CHANGE THE PLUGS AND WIRES IN THE BACK OF THE ENGINE ON A 3.0 24V DURATEC???????? The front plugs, no problem, but the back I don't think I can even get a socket or my hand back there!!! Should I disconnect the dog bones (motor mounts up front) and lean the engine towards the front? My wifes 03 Taurus with the 3.0 Vulcan (plain jane 160hp) engine has plenty of room in the back. ANY HELP ON ONE OR BOTH QUESTIONS WILL BE GREAT, THANKS GUYS!!!!!!!

Well first, Ford had a lot of troubles with the turn signal switch, It wouldn't surprise me at all if it was jacked. Real simple to change: remove the steering shroud ,three screws, might have to remove the tilt arm 5.5mm or 5mm wrench. Then your turn signal switch is exposed. Next it's held on my two torx screws, 20T. Remove them. The switch is now hanging by 2 electrical connectors. Just unplug them, be easy not to break the tabs. Work them off using a small screwdriver. Reverse for assembly.
Now then, your back plugs can only be accessable by removing the upper intake. Get that out of the way, your home free.
