How to make camry handle like a Accord?
I know this is a Toyota site. But, I am sure there must be someone here that have driven a 2003 or newer Honda Accord. The handling of the suspension is just *amazing* for family sedan. I mean, the car still rolls when taking corner, but the bounce effect at start up and stop is way better then my camry... or even 2001 solara.
Now, I have 97 Camry 2.2L (90000Miles) and am thinking about upgrading the suspension. Please remember, I am not looking to make the car lower so drop spring is out of the question. My goal is to get this 8 years car handle as much like a new Accord as possible. My first proposed setup is -- Keep the Stock Spring and only replace shock/strut with Tokico. If you have any other combo to help my archive my goal, please *do* share. ASM |

In addition to the shocks, stronger springs and stronger sway bars will both make it corner better. Lowering it a little will also help.

Stiffer springs, good struts, front & rear sway bar upgrades. You need to ditch the springs, they're normally sagging by 10 years anyway.
The only front sway bar maker is Whiteline. Whiteline & TRD make rear sway bars. The biggest single differance without paying a lot of money is going to be from upgrading the rear sway bar. From there, you should grab a pair of stigger springs & a good set of struts. Without getting into it, tower braces don't do jack (or Jill!). Trust me, leave it at that.

just get a kit that handles they way you want it. some times there classified as "race car feel" or "euro handling" pick one out and install it. dont blame you handling on camrys the worse ive ever expierienced. o well, makes up for it with the extremely reliable engine i guess.

No offinse, but there are no ready to go kits - only mixed & amrched parts. That's the worst way to do it.
You go doing that kind & you wind up with the coilover sleeves that are $30 off ebay & stiff as a rock. They have a habbit of being so stiff they blow racing adjustable KYB struts in a few months. Most of them are 300-375 lb springs (to compress an inch) You could run Talladega & Dayton NASCAR races on those springs & be leagal!? It's best to do your own mixing & matching.
