The Paul Stewart car was previously owned by Liam Howlett from the Prodigy, not Keith Flint. Flint has been accused of owning many cars in the past (not least a Cerbera Speed 12 )

Also, why is citing McLaren Racing's poor early season record at the track an indication of Mercedes roadcar reliability

Thanks for the correction - I knew that name sounded wrong for some reason.

Re: How many F1's have been written off/destroyed?

Paul Stewart seems to be quite the gearhead. He also owns a 450 bhp motorcycle Arlen Ness motorcycle in Northern California--at least that's what the guys at the Arlen Ness factory told me when I visited last year. They knew about his McLaren too.

i never said antything about mercedes roadcar reliability, i said mercedes engine reliability sucks... because its the fault of engine failures for team mclaren mercedes world championship struggles...both the loss to alonso in the driver championship and for the super tight constructor championship between mclaren and renault...

unknown chassis - Bernd Pischetsrieder - BMW President (reported: "written off")

unknown chassis - Silver F1 shown in Driving Ambition with the rear section smashed, showcasing that the impact absorption of the rear silencer worked as intended. The car looks fixable to me, but Gordon told tvrfreak and I that the owner just wanted another car and didn't want that one fixed. Hard to say if that confirms it was never fixed or not in my mind.

None specifically. There were several GTRs badly damaged in crashes, including two by fires at LeMans in 1997, but it seems they have all been repaired and resurfaced at some point.

Off the top of my head...
Chassis #04R had a bad crash at the '95 Jarama race, and was replaced for the rest of the season by #08R. It later reappeared at the 1996 Japan GT race at Mine, filling in for GTR #14R. It's also believed that #04R became the West Adrenaline Programme GTR, and I think it was the Papaya Orange GTR seen in photos at the Bahrain GP circuit earlier this year.

GTR #25R was one of the two Gulf GTRs to catch fire at LeMans in 1997. It was reportedly destroyed by the fire, but later reappeared in the Japan GT series in 1999 or 2000, having been rebuilt from spares. It's worn several liveries since then and is still racing there today under the Tajimax livery showcased here recently.

Some of us like to watch these things on TV you know...

Anyway, I think it makes for a more entertaining race when Kimi has to struggle from the middle of the pack, but that isn't really a discussion suited for this forum.

There was one LARK GTR that suffered what appeared to be a horrific crash in 1996 JGTC... t-boned by a 911. Carbon fiber bits everywhere. Practically the entire mid section destroyed except the tub. Apparently that one was rebuilt as well.

It was the #61 car, which would have been GTR #14R, and that crash occurred at Sugo. As stated above, it appears they borrowed GTR #04R for the following race at Mine.

I just realized (without a copy of the DA poster handy) that Mine was the last event of the season though, and #14R hasn't shown up in any races since to my knowledge, nor has it been confirmed as any of the converted GTRs that are floating around. That leaves me wondering if it was ever rebuilt or not.

Here's the photo from the crash that BMW.Williams posted in the #13R/#14R thread:
