changing the SC pulley
I recently bought a new '05 GTP and love it. Like almost everyone else though, I want more pick-up off the line. I am interested in changing the SC pulley, but don't see the benefit of a Magnuson nose unit since I don't plan to swap out pulleys very often (if ever after replacing the factory one). Is there an aftermarket pulley that will fit the original nose unit? Can anyone recommend a diameter? I only have 950 miles on the car. Are there any known serious problems that can be caused be replacing the pulley (I'm sure there are some theoretical ones, but I'm more interested in actual problems users have experienced)?
Any advise would be appreciated. Brady

Not theoretical. If you change your pully now you could void your warranty. 05' GTP has some balls stock, and GTP has proven to be reliable. IMO a Brand New car, under factory warranty is worth alot. Maybe consider more Mods near the end, or after warranty expires. Getting stuck on I-95, broken down, with a modified S/C pulley...Price, appox $6000. Getting stuck on I95, broken down, with a stock car, under factory warranty...PRICELESS!

yeah I'm in the same boat, an 04' gtp with an extended warranty(to 75k)... But I just plan on keeping it tame until I get out of college next year, once I have a real job, screw the warranty
 Most dealerships(i know my doesn't) do not care about exhaust, CAI, and other small mods(thermostat, etc.) But if you want to keep your warranty do even think about pulleys, that is one of the 1st things they look for on Sc'd cars... Also I'd go with a SLP Cold Air intake, it looks a lot more stock than the competition and most GM parts departments "trust" slp a lot more than say the Intense Fenderwell kit(I have a feeling they would void the warranty on the looks of it alone)...

A CAI can get you anywhere from 5-15 FWHP (depending on CAI type). HP gains at higher altitudes will be lower since the air is much thinner. Plus, a restrictive stock exhaust will reduce it further. Agree with the above posts. Don't mess with pulleys or PCMs or you will void your warranty.
