New member has been around cars for 35 yrs

Hi! New Guy here.
I have been working on cars for over 35 years. Pontiac, Voltswagon, Dodge, Plymouth, Cheve, Mazda, Mitsubishi are some of the makes.
I have torn engines down and rebuilt transmissions as well as all kinds of regular repairs like brakes, shocks, exhaust parts and bearings.
I might need help on some of the newer car stuff. This new stuff is not out in the open where you can figure out what's going on.
I would like to get a scanner but I haven,t taken the time to figure out what I really need.
