Fender/Bumper Replacement

Hey I need some help if anyone can provide it. My sister drives a 2004 Pontiac Sunfire and she let a friend borrow it (big mistake). Anyways, her friend was driving on the highway and she hit a wooden chair that someone left on the freakin highway. Why? I dont know. It was at night and she couldnt dodge it. The results were catastrophic. 2600+ in damages. Both my sister and her friend dont wanna go through insurance since they are good friends. What were doing is ordering the parts and replacing the fender and the bumper on our own.

My question is how difficult is it to remove the fender and bumper? Hopefully someone in here has done that before and can provide me with a little help. Ive posted many times on AF but in the Grand Am threads and have received much help and i was hoping i could find the same here.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Fender/Bumper Replacement

the whole thing just bolts on, fender wells have to come out and I believe the headlights. but not too big a job. hardest part is lining up the fender with the proper spacing.

BTW, the fender is the same from 95-04, the bumpers changed several times. a good afternoon would get it handled for sure.

Thanks hotbug. I figured it would be a pretty straightforward bolt on. Wasnt totally sure as to how hard it would be. Oh well...wish me luck.
