I'm a newbie and I need advice on a swap

I have a 92' Civic Hatchback. I'm in the process of looking around for the best possible swap that won't put me in debt. I've browsed around but I don't know enough to make a decision. What motor will give me the most power and speed and won't require vast amounts of modification to the car. Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated.

the d16z6 and y8 i think bolts right in and you can pick them up cheap or you can do a b18 swap they need a motor mount kit to bolt the motor in, but with the b18 you need to get shift linkage, axles, etc... Im not 100% but i think thats how it is.

The great thing about your car is it's already wired up for Vtec so your options are way open. for cheap, go for the d16z6. It'll be a little bit of a kick, but going to a B series will be like no other. I say GSR B18c1 for the best "cheaper" swap. they're still expensive, but worth it. B16's are also nice and probably cheaper. Just start searching websites for pricing and check out your local tuner shops. good luck!!

Does anyone have any idea on a possible final cost for a GSR B18c1 swap, including all the parts I'm gonna need? Labor isn't a problem, my friend is a licensed mechanic and knows what he's doing.

I've seen them for as cheap as $2000. Check craigslist.com, i've seen some there. its a local ad's kind of thing. I believe its a direct bolt on, but do a search to see everything you will need.
