Secret Societies....?

Okay, the Red/Blue States thread sort of got me thinking. But watching the History Channel last night on Secret Societies got me thinking even more.

Do you think there is that 'inner circle' that pulls the strings so to speak? The big one's being Bilderberg, Skull and Bones, Freemasons, Council on Foriegn Relations.

I don't know whether to believe it or not, but I do think it's possible. What I do think is more possible is the select few in a group, the elitists' if you will that most 'important' ranking officials become members of after proving themselves to get to their positions or are more or less sought out or born into.

Just some crazy thought and thought it would be a rather interesting discussion.

I personally believe that there is one, large, inner-circle, that influences our daily lives through politics - and they are populated by politicians from both sides of the aisle. The Skull and Bones connection betwen Bush and Kerry come to mind.

I see this organization as not only pushing their people on both sides of the political coin, so that no matter which way the vote goes, it goes their way, but I also see them as an organization that's encouraging this in-fighting between American citizens, highlighted by the Red/Blue States thread, as to keep everybody distracted, while they siphon away all our power and tax money.

Kind of like a kid that gets away with anything, while his parents fight.

It might not be an organized a conspiracy as movies/TV depict, but with all the debts the country is accruing, we sure as hell ain't seeing a single dime of all this "borrowed money". So who is? SOMEBODY's reaping SOMETHING, and it sure ain't the American people.

I am a freemason and well the strings and puppet idea is outdated for better or for worse I'll leave my own thoughts out as they are not on topic.

I honestly havn't seen anything but charity come from us I will agree probbly some times way back there was a reason to question some of these groups.

Now I am a bit of a history buff and do like the Secert Societies alot too and they all are having less and less members so if any power its going to fewer people and probbly less of it.

Honestly I think they mostly are just cool clubs some gained real fame and with fame comes naysaying.

I don't think there are secret societies pulling the strings. I'm sure there are groups that have lots of cash and keep to themselves, but I think peoples imagination tends to get the better of them.
