i thought pvc was a bad thing to use because when it heats up it gives off toxic fumes.

Re: d.i.y. c.a.i.

been reading around and i guess PVC is toxic when heated, ABS or exhaust piping are safe alterntives.

yeah i think i will buy some of that flex tubing for exhaust that i can bend it any way i want and it should stay it holds curves pretty well and you can put a filter on the end of it. you would have to be pretty damn lucky to find a piece of exhaust to match what ya need i have looked i couldnt find anything in a 3" tube. ill let ya guys know how the flex tubing works.

Hey scarecrow. I was just reading through some posts to get some ideas about making a CAI for my friend who drives a Saturn (I drive a Grand Am) I do have some pictures of my intake i made a couple weeks ago. I used regular PVC from Home Depot and the whole get-up cost me less than 50 dollars, with a filter (go to autozone or advance autoparts for a filter.)

If you go here, http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...49#post3458749, and scroll down about 2/3 of the way youll see 3 or 4 pictures of mine. Best of luck with your project...let me know how it turns out.
