hondas dont have rev limit on downshifts. my friend blew up a b16a and a b16b with 600 miles on it by missing a 4th gear shift.

What TSC did is called a mechanical overrev. The transmission starts spinning very fast as soon as you put it in second, and when you let the clutch out, the engine will try to match the transmission speed (at that point it's 8000+ rpms), and the only thing that can be done is to disconnect the transmission from the engine using the clutch, and switch to a different gear. To protect from having this happen the ECU would have to "push" the clutch in for you at the rev limit rpms.
