Definitely a header. You might want to up your exhaust piping diameter to 2.5". And some type of fuel management...

You can get wires for less than $100. and plugs are like 6-12 each. Distributor should be 100 or less. To get any big power its going to take money...

Yes you need to get it done by either a shop or someone that knows turbos. installing it is not difficult, but tuning is. im not sure what you mean when you say "chrome" if youre talking about SS autochrome then stay away from it. usually you can find aftermarket turbo manifolds for around $400. sometimes you can use other honda manifolds that are modified with an adapter plate to fit the turbo. this is why you need to take it to a good turbo shop. its expensive, and if you want power and reliability then it will cost you alot no matter what. if you have no idea about any of this, then the best thing to do is just wait. save up money and consider buying a boosted car, such as an Eclipse or something like that. If you really want to turbo your car, then figure spending anywhere from $3,000-$10,000 and having around 250-400 hp. Much over 250 you will need to look at engine strengthening. rods, pistons, rings, almost everything if you want alot of power. costs are around $3,000 + for a rebuild. For this reason you may want to consider a boosted car. designed for turbo and you can upgrade along the way making it easier to afford.

Re: this is gonna sound dumb...
The stock ignition system on a Prelude is good for around 300 hp. Don't waste your money on MSD or some other ignition system if your not in that hp range. Plugs and wires would be a good upgrade. A header would also be a good upgrade since you're going FI. Don't be cheap when you buy the header, you get what you pay for.
I agree with alphalanos tuning is the most important step but don't buy a turbo manifold for your supercharger! I think the Jackson Racing kit comes with some kind of fuel management upgrade but I'm not sure. BTW that orange font sucks. |

Re: this is gonna sound dumb...
He was talking about turno manifolds becuase he thought you said SS Autochrome.
Either way, yeah a header (not plural) would be a good upgrade.

oh ok. well a little knowledge doesnt hurt. btw most of what i said still applies to the supercharger, concerning engine build up. i would rather have a turbo anyway. theyre just sexy

Re: this is gonna sound dumb...
A good tune should be your first priority after you get it installed. If you have the money to spend on a nice header, then do that at the same time and it will save you some money from having to get tuned again after the header install. A vafc isn't going to be sufficient if you really want your motor to last with boost. You need something that can retard timing as you go up the rpm range. I'm running a p28 with crome professional tuning. If you "really" want a good tune, look into neptune or the hondata s300. Both very extremely high tech programs. I would also suggest investing in a wideband 02 kit. That way you can keep an eye out on how the motor is running at all times. Check out the PLX widebands.

^^start by reading this. I highly suggest going through all of this: http://www.pgmfi.org/twiki/bin/view/Library/WebHome you will learn alot. Your stock ignition will be fine. But if you really want to, get the NGK plugs and the stock NGK plugs. You dont "have" to get hondata, supercharger, and header all at the same time cuz thats gonna hurt your wallet quite a bit. My suggestion is that if you are modding on a budget. Get the supercharger and get it tuned. The tuning should be your first priority.
