My passenger side window goes down, no problem, but wont go up... you can hear the motor working, (wiring is fine) but it doesn't do anything. Have the panels off, what do I do next?
Thanks! Alana Full size 88 xlt Bronco |

Re: Power window won't go up.....
there are like 3 bolts that hold the motor in, drill through the metal so you can get a wrench on the bolts- take the motor out after you prop the window up. Open the transmission part of the motor and clean it out good- your gonna find lil chunks of nylon in the grease- this was the rollers. You need to grease it back up and put new rollers (3) in each corner. The rollers you can make out of 5/16" round stock about 3/8" long or buy the "help" packs that have 3 nylon rollers in the kit at most auto stores. Put the cover back on- reinstall the motor.

Had similar problems, changed the rollers, but when window went to bottom, it went too far. Couldn't wind it up, no motor noise, nothing. Dismantled and found that the arm was going too far, like to the last teeth and it would cause the whole unit to twist with the torque, thereby locking up, had to dimantle motor from arm and weld stopper to prevent arm going own too far.
