Someone suggested the amerage is too much coming from somewhere and that is causing the resistor to blow. Anyone know anything about this? how much to fix?
Thanks for any input.

I have a similar issue with my 00 JGC Limited. Blower worked on and off (temperature def. changed though) and then finally stopped working. Pulled the blower motor resistor (or so i think that is what it is) this weekend and noticed that one of the three electrical connectors where one of the 2 wire harness connect was black like it had been burned. additionally, the black casing around the resistor had noticeably melted there...definitely a heat/too much electricity issue.
I went to a junk yard today and also pulled a blower motor resistor from a 00 JGC Limited. However, first i noticed that the same spot had melted on that resistor, and when i tried to plug it into my JGC just to try, the wire harness that connects to the blower motor was slightly different. i don't understand since both are '00 JGC, but oh well. Lastly, my resistor has a date on it of Nov 02 - weird since the JGC is an '00. Must have been a problem for the prior owner as well.
I am going to try to get a resistor somewhere (not having much luck without going through the dealer) before replacing anything else. my next steps if this doesn't work will probably involve replacing the blower motor. after that, unsure. I will keep you posted though. if any of you out there are also experiencing this issue, please let us know!
By the way, Advance Auto is offering a blower motor for the JGC for about $66 or so. NAPA & Fisher are around $95.
Haven't found a price quote for the resistor yet...still need to find one.
