water leaking

Guys,
See if you can help me. I bought a 2004 GC 1 month ago and every time a hard rain comes in my driver side floorboard is flooded. Any suggestions are welcome.

Have taken it in 3 times and not solved yet.
1. Steering column cowling
2. Firewall leak followed by new carpeting
3. sitting at dealership as we speak

Thanks for any help

Re: water leaking

I agree, but I have no clue what would be causing something like that, thats pretty crazy.

Re: water leaking

Warranty will take care of that its probably a faulty door seal or the cowl is leaking.

Water leak driver's side

I have the exact same problem on my 2002 GC. We thought it was the sunroof, but after having 3 of them replaced I still have the issue. Any ideas?

Re: water leaking

I just read a thread about a leak under the luggage rack, here what this jeeper had to say

"Val, if your vehicle is a Grand Cehrokee (new body style) the water is more than likely coming from the upper body joint in the windshield or from the body seam under the luggage rack. The water will run down the inside of the winshield pillar trim, through the bakside of the dash and leak on the floor. A simple check would be to take it to an auto car wash and have them stop the vehicle in the middle and spray the #$%^ out of the windshield and luggage rack. This is a know problem with the new body style Cherokees and actually both sides leak."
