I have a 88 Wrangler 6cyl. 5spd. all stock with original wiring. No alarms or theft devices. Problem is when I try to start it acts like a bad Ballast resistor, engine only runs with key in start position. release key to run position it dies. I don't think Wranglers have a Ballast resistor. What's the fix? Thanks much, T

Re: Won't run
So when you turn the key onto Aux which means it doesnt start the jeep but it turns on all electric like stereo and dash lights. You can get the jeep to run on Aux, but if you turn the key to crank/start, it wont turn over? Which means battery is good, so I would replace the Alternator. But you say you can start the jeep? Maybe if you push start it? I dunno

Re: Won't run
Ok thats good, good to hear you got it fixed. Bad grounds can cause havoc on troubleshooting possible fix. You should clean all grounds and make sure they are tightly fastened. It was real late for me when I responded last time.
