Talking heater core ? ( i know not again lol)

hello everyone I'm new to the board. i have a 1996 chevy blazer s10, i just got a good deal on it but there was one problem, no heat. the guy i got the blazer from said that the when he turned on the heat it would have steam come out the vents. I also noticed that the passenger floor board was stained. so my ? is, if it's the heater core, are these common symptoms of a bad heater core. And if so, how hard are they to replace. thanks

You have all the Classic signs of a bad heater core. Yes they are a b*tch to replace, but not impossible. Use the search option and type in "Heater Core". I'm sure you will find some good instructions on how to replace it yourself... Good luck

Yes it is a rather long time consuming job. The key to doing it correctly is not getting in a hurry and remember to label all the wiring connectors that you take lose. I would not even start on it unless you have a whole day to put into it. Also if you have never had the dash apart before it would be a good time to invest in a Haynes manual.
