Re: my nissan sentra wont start help

What year is your car? My nissan sentra is 94 and a nissan mechanics told me this car does not use any timing belt anymore and the model has be changed to other mechanical way. So if your car is 94 or later you should not worry about the timing belt.

botang-it uses a timing chain

chains last longer, but are prone to stretching over time, which can throw off the timing. but that wouldnt cause no spark. i hate to give bad news, but it sounds like its your distributor. (could be the coil, but if i recall, the coil is inside the distributor and possibly not replaceable by itself, check with a parts store or dealer to see for sure). worst case is bad ecu.

my car is 1991 so i am not sure what is going on with the car guess i willhave to put on a computer to find out what is the problem. But I am still hoping someone can tell me something that will help try since we have looked at everything else. People are telling me its not getting a good connection from the coil to the cap. So still trying to figure it out.

Re: my nissan sentra wont start help

no the distributor is the part the cap bolts to. the ecu is the engine computer, located inside the car(not under hood)
