98 Accord 4dr LX Power-window and locks problems...

Alright, got a whole new problem now.

My power-windows aren't working. Well, they sort of are, but at the same time not. Each door can control each window, but at my main control, I can only control the drivers side windows, and not the passenger side...

Also, for some reason, my power-locks refuse to work. Can't control them from the drivers seat, or the passenger, can't control them from the exterior of the car either.

This only seems to happen whenever I pull the terminals off the battery, which seems a bit odd to me, but whatever, or whenever the battery is very low on power. Now, its been about 3 weeks since I last pulled the terminals off, and they are still not working.
Actually, I lie, they worked for about 2 days, then quit again, that was a week ago.

First off, I've check all the fuses, and they are all good. So, is there some sort of relay that controls both the power-windows and the power locks? Because it never seems that just one will stop working. Its either they both work, or they both don't.

Anyone else ever seen this in the 98 year accord, I'm looking at you honda techs, and if so, what was your diagnosis for this. I havn't touched any wiring going between the two sides, and if I did, then I probably wouldn't be getting any windows on the passenger side to go down.

Thanks to anyone who has any tips or advice...

shotgun side locks

i have a similar problem like yours.

the main control locks every door and opens every door BUT the front passenger side.

at times it works and that is leik 1 out of 10 times. all the other times i have to do it manually by just pressing the button to lock the door.

took it to a mech but wen he tested it, it worked fine...so i took it to the dealer...same thing i am thinking is it just me???

also relating to that problem, i noticed for the past month, when i am driving my alarm would make the reset nosie and my locks will lock and unlock. happend to me about 5 times already, anyone know any information?

I am having the EXACT same problem. Haven't touched my battery terminals or nothing though. Mine quit working after using a radar gun in my car. Had to be plugged into my power outlet, so I'm wondering if that had something to do with it. Any help with this problem would be very much appreciated.

Thanks.

I'd be looking for a half-fried ground in the main control harness, pinched conduit/wiring in the door jamb, and taking the main cluster out and having a look at the harness connection underneath.

Have a look at the power distribution box near the battery too, make sure there isn't something cooked on that end.

I found something on a site about resetting a multiplex unit or something of that nature. Basically, you turn your car on (don't start it, just turn it on), set the intermittent wipers to the medium setting, then turn the car off, and then back on. Soon as I did that, everything worked again.

I can't explain it, but it worked.

Actually if you look in the under hood fuse box there is a 40 amp fuse that sticks up higer than the rest. Remove it and make sure the intermitant wiper ring is in the center than reinstall the fuse. This will "wak up" the multiplex. If it happns again than its gonna need a multiplex.
