Keep in mind the life span of an average battery is 5yrs. My Die Hard has a 3yr replacement warranty. After that, it's prorated.

Re: Battery

A battery is one of the few things I can recommend from Autozone.

Go in and ask for a 78DT-DGN. It will run around $80 with exchange. Cranking amps at 32deg is 1000 (900cca). Warranty is 3 year free replacement, 8 year prorated.

I've seen these things fry to a bad voltage regulator, get refilled with water, charged, and work like new.

If you do not get the Optima, I would recommend one of these.

Cool thank you. I don't really need a deep cycle battery I don't think as I never use the stereo for more then a few minutes with the engine not running

Re: Battery

I would avoid the Die Hard Gold. I'm on my third in one year. They have a great 3 yr full replacement warranty but if you let them sit for too long they die, and they die hard. Plenty of power though (520 CCA).

Re: Battery

I went for the highest cca that I could fit in the hole . I wanted an Optima , but ended with the walmart everstart . 3 year free exchange , 9 year prorated . I have had no problems with any of mine in 6 years . Rob

How high is your cca? I think I am going to put a Caddy battery in as they seem to be the most powerful. I am looking for 1000 cca as I am snowmobiling and skiing a lot over the winters and need soemthing with some power on those cold, cold, mornings

Re: Battery

I think it is 950 or 980 ca but I am not sure about the cca rating . I wanted the most out of an affordable package and I don't get very cold weather too often. I really need the reserve power more , since mine sits for a week or two at a time until hunting season and bad weather . Its the backup auto , or TOY as my wife calls it .Rob

How dare your wife call our trucks toys! haha I get the same thing That sounds like apretty decent battery. I will have to check that out. I have also heard good things and well bad things about Duralast, Autozones batteries.

ps: On a side note, I also heard the Duralast tools are made by Snapon???? I can tell you this, the guy at Autozone held up a Snapon open ended wrench and then a Duralast one and they are the same exact thing with a different brand name on them. I believe the part numbers were the same. Just something to ponder.
