Tie Rod Ends/Rotor Question

I have a 99 Intrigue GL 3.5L and was wondering what tie rod ends I would need for it and how they cost. Where do you guys guy your parts?

Another question
My rotors were looked at said to need replacing, what are rotors? If I don't replace them what will happen? Same with the tie rods, if I don't replace them what will happen to my car? Here's the numbers they wrote down concerning the rotors, thanks!

LF 1237
RF 1224

SPEC. 1248

Re: Tie Rod Ends/Rotor Question

Rotors are part of the braking system. They are actually the "disc" in disc brakes. According to my factory manual the discard thickness of the rotors is 1.21 in. I assume the numbers you gave us were actually 1.237 and 1.224 in. So actually your rotors are above discard limit and if you are not experiencing brake problems, like pulsation or shimmying, I would wait until you are ready for front pads also.

In other words, next time you have a front brake job you will need pads and rotors.

As far as tie rod ends, they can be inner or outer, probably outers. You should be able to get all of this stuff at Autozone or Advance Auto Parts, etc.
