Re: New Drawings

darken the tread portion of the front wheel of the Rivvy. needs to be in shadow.

others are overall pretty cool. you have some ellipse and perspective issues on some of the concept sketches. overall good.

Nice Alex
I like what you did w/ the 05 Eclipse. You made it look a lot better. But dang those eclipses are ugly. Even the one before that style looked better.

Re: New Drawings

They're all great, but the Buick is incredible!

(The Scion looks a little out of proportion, compared to the rest, almost toonish.)

sad ain't it I still think the 3rd gen (model before the new ones) were the worst Eclipses made. I like the 4th gen's a hell of alot better. One of those cars you have to see in person to say "Hey this doesnt look too bad..."

Alex man maybe you should pitch that sketch to some body kit companies, someone would be bound to make something like that.

Great drawings! I love the first one!
Can you show a close up of the first one? Im asking becuase my drawings usually gets kind of "grainy" when you look close...while far away or small pics they look silky smooth. Just wanna se how yours look up close

Thanks!

Re: New Drawings

wow

first thing that caught my eye was the second and third one.

In the past your renderings of your drawings from your sketches were good but not as good as your renderings from photo reference.....well....those days are gone!

That third one is great. I can see everything in your sketch in the final and it's fabulous.

Very impressive.

Re: New Drawings

Bonz: thanks for the advice. I wanted to define the edge of the tire and undershadow, which is why the tire is so light. I agree that it looks wrong now that I look at it. As for the ellipse problem, that's something I've been working at for quite a while now... is it the shape or the angle that's off? or both?

Al: I agree about the eclipse. It's gone downhill after the late 90's generation (dont know which gen that is). I kinda like the super wide fenders of the 06 though.

skyline: Thanks man, but the front bumper of my sketch isn't my own design... it's from another kit (not an eclipse) and I made changes to it.

Lukas: Sure, I'll post some close up pics

Lemorris: Thanks, that means alot! I'm still learning about reflections and the way light would reflect off different curves, surfaces and shapes, but hopefully I'll keep getting better at freehand rendering.

Thanks to everyone else who looked and commented.

Alex

Re: New Drawings

Oh, and the closeup pics:

front rim:

Front grille: (by far the hardest part of the drawing!)

both.

insofar as the newest eclipse, 4th gen?, i think that is the best looking one they have yet created. i can't see how people hate it. it is awesome looking. far more classy and sophisticated than the butt-ugly bars of soap wedges of previous gens, especially the first one --very badly proportioned car in my opinion. i think that is the same car as the talon?

about the newest one, they just need to make the damn thing RWD with VLSD.
