Angry MAD! ARghg! Dealer smashed truck

head on into an oncoming car.

Dropped truck off late this afternoon at the same dealership where I bought it - they owed me a free alignment. This dealership literally sits right on the edge of a VERY busy street; I was told one of the service reps attempted to move it around back so that it would be the 1st vehicle in the shop tomorrow. The rep decided to go out onto the main road as the other way through their parking area was blocked, pulling out he rammed head on into the side of an idiot pulling a u-turn.

The rep stated that he was so concerned with the cars coming from the left, he failed to look straight in front of him and just floored it. Truck has considerable damage, as it collided with a medium sized delivery truck - obviously it won, my truck lost

If that wasn't bad enough, one of the cars coming from the left couldn't stop soon enough - smashed in the rear quarter panel.

Majority of fluids, antifreeze, power steering fluid, windshield washer fluid - all of it dumped out. You could still see it on the ground when I got back over there - but the road had been cleared of the accident, so I didn't see exactly how they all hit.

Front-end has a lot of damage, more so then it's worth, insurance wise, for the dealership to fix.

Since this happened within their 3 day money back guarantee promise, they offered to either return my funds or put me into another vehicle.

Only one I was somewhat interested in was a 99 Pathfinder - but I was so mad that I just couldn't even see straight.

I can't believe how much time I've spent looking for a clean, well taken care of older Rodeo, finally finding the one with all the correct options, and this happens, I am so mad I could spit nails.

That is horrible! What are the chances of something like that happening!?!? Hopefully nothing can come back on to you with respect to your auto insurance policy! Hopefully no one got hurt & atleast you or your family were not involved. That dealer definately owes you an 'upgrade' for all the trouble. Take them up on something. I've known several pathfinder owners who love them. I've owned nissan's in the past (2 sentras) and they were great cars.

Man, that's horrible. Maybe it's best to look at it as a sign. I'll say this though, Pathfinders are real nice. You may like it. Give it a shot.

Good luck,
Marc

Re: MAD! ARghg! Dealer smashed truck

wow that is amazing...

what are the odds??? i think the dealer is lucky...with the 3 day return period. you get your money back, he doesn't have to pay to total the vehicle. otherwise it would have been costly to get a new vehicle

at least no one was hurt. that's the important thing.

Re: MAD! ARghg! Dealer smashed truck

And here I'm pissing and moaning when my daughter put the first dent in the hood (by driving it under the mailbox) after I tried to take care of my rig. Totally sucks.

Good luck getting a new vehicle. That place ought to bend over backwards for you.

this is that 95.5 that you bought isnt it? The one that you were just writing about how much you liked and all? Man I am sorry to hear that man, that sucks. I hope you end up with something even better!

See if they can find you a 96-97 or better yet 98-newer in the same condition for the same price. More horsepower

Elway dealerships are usually pretty good at taking care of customers. At least my family has had good luck with them. I know Barbys Freeway Ford had a 98 for sale for $5500 but I never got a look at it. Title hadnt cleared yet when I went to look and they never called me back. Got my '99 now so not interested in it anymore.

If you really want a 95.5 have you looked at this one yet?

I was concidering that one for a while, I never went to look at it but looks nice in the pics and has had all the expensive to service stuff done already.

Re: MAD! ARghg! Dealer smashed truck

can I ask what makes a 95.5 different from say a 95 or 96? I am just wondering because I hear this year talked about quite a bit, I am new around here so be patient with me!!

As far as I know a 95.5 is just a 95 with the 96 (updated) interior. I dont know of any other differences, but then I never physicly looked at them either.
