The first image from the July 14/15 Xcursion to Millican Valley near Bend, Oregon. The word of the day was D-U-S-T.
After a brief stop in Prineville for food and firewood, six Xterras and a CrewCab (me) headed down Millican Road to the OHV area. Most of the roads/trails were easy. The tricky part came on the narrow trails with rocks on one side and Juniper trees on the other, with the occasional barbed wire fence thrown in to keep you awake. I left the group on Saturday as they were heading towards the southern part of the OHV area. I had fun running amongst the trees, rocks and dust.

We ended up a bit East La Pine.. we decided to skip the rest of the Millican area and headed for the Paulina/East lake area. The maps showed a bunch of 4x4 trails that ended up being more dusty easy trails. We did find an incredible camping spot on top of McKay Butte though! I will post a pic later of what a 6" nail looks like in a 32" mud terrain

I really wish I hadn't missed this trip. And to think, Bend is only 3.5 hours from me(the closest PNWX trip so far). Sadly, my wife wouldn't let me offroad one weekend, then drive to Canada with buddies the next.

Mosi,
Hope you guys took more pictures than I did. I took a total of two. I was too busy dodging rocks on that ATV trail. I did catch one rock on the right rear rim. A small gouge on the face of the rim and a chuck of tread missing from the tire. So, that tire just became my spare. Sure am glad Nissan put FIVE alloy rims on my truck. Looking forward to a full report. I had fun Saturday and will be attending more Xcursions after August.

Actually, we didn't take many photos because they would have pretty much been "show your best fire road" shot

I think all of the 2000 CrewCabs came with five of the same wheel, so if you had alloys on the four road tires, the spare was alloy, too. First thing I did when I bought the truck was to put a lock on that puppy, for fear that Midnight Auto Parts might be out on a procurement run some night.
My fiancee's rig has five alloys on it, too. It's a...Rodeo...There! I said it! I feel so cleansed now! Regarding the damage picked up on the Millican trip. It's very superficial, but now that I know it's there, it's bugging me. Eventually I need to get some steel rims with some beefier tires. I could almost hear those General Grabbers crying every time I went over one of those pointy rocks.
