D18Y8 ignition timing.

I just rebuilt the engine and put it back in the car. I need to set the timing. Does anyone know the settings?

Re: D18Y8 ignition timing.

i think your crank pully has 3 notches on it...with your timing guns set to 0, and the sevice connector jumped and the engine brought up to temp... set it so the middle notch is lined up with the little plastic fin on the cover.

under your dash, on the pass. side. its a little green plug that has nothing pluged into it... mine had a silicone (green) protective case on it... jump it using a thin paper clip or i used speaker wire.

go to www.helminc.com and buy the service manual for your car. it will have EVERYTHING you could ever do for your car....with pics and torque specs...
