springs

ok well im about tired of the clicking from the shotty install back in feb of my struts. is there a cost effective way to get the springs properly seated so they dont move with the wheels? is it possible for a weekend warrior to do or should it be left to a mechanic?

Re: springs

I don't know of any special tricks to getting them in there properly other than just doing it correctly. You can do it in a weekend easily with the right tools. Get a Haynes manual at the least to help you out.

Re: springs

after i had the place work on it the springs started clciking like 2 weeks later, have yet to find my receipt from the work done back from feb. and i know my dad and i looked through the haynes man. and for some reason it didnt give any detailed pics of that area to make a comparison to, ill have to read it more thoroughly i guess to find out.

I haven't looked in my Haynes, but a Chilton's manual may be of more help. If you give me your email I can email you the suspension part of my 99 FSM.

Re: springs

its strange, seems like when its hot outside they click, but i havent heard them click for the past few days. my email is [email protected] ill give that a ganders and see whats up.

im thinking about coil overs for it if i can find a good inexpensive set because im so tired of bottoming out on railroad tracks and small uneven sections of road lol.

i wish they would have recalled 2 things i hate about neons, their short bumpstop and that dumb 3spd auto wich is just retarded...

Email sent...I wouldn't waste your money on cheap coilovers. If you are going to it, then do it right. The cheap coilovers you see on eBay and other places are just the sleeves, they are not true coilover setups!
