I was wondering if there are any engine swaps that are popular in the streetbike world?

Re: engine swaps???

i asked this question a while back and the only answer i got was "theres so many other bikes out there why" or something like that most people on here aint the most project seeking type but think of it this way if theres a will theres a way considering the motor and trasmission on these is all 1 piece it should be a easy swap just fabricate some motor mounts and your good to go

Re: engine swaps???

People don't bother to do it because for the price you'd pay for the swap, you could buy the bike that is MADE to hold that engine. Granted, it has been done, but why? It changes the whole handling dynamic of the vehicle...

i would say if you were making a drag bike you are going to change the whole handling of the bike anyway. more powerful engines in lighter setups have been the way for every kind of drag racing there is except for bikes so i was wondering why.

Re: engine swaps???

Because, frames in bikes are getting lighter by the year... There is no NEED to change a bigger engine in b/c the manufacturers have already done it for you...

Re: engine swaps???

not exactly true you can buy lighter after market frames for the bikes and a engine swap isnt done because lets be honost most sport bike riders are kids that dont have a clue of how to swap a engine personaly if you got the bike and the engine id say go for it make sure you have a decent welder a cutting torch etc too bad you wasnt in iowa we could have hella good time doing it
