100 miles on a flat tyre

I am looking at the 2005 /2006 Odyssey... my friend has one and said the tyres are special and will run for up to 100 miles with a flat ... He also said that not all the regular tyre places can change these special tyres but that a network is being developed so there is some place every 100 miles or so. Does anyone know if this is true ? For all models ? and does it mean there is no spare tyre ?

Yes this is true.... 2005 and 2006 odessey have run flate tires -- i was told when we purchaced our vehicle that it only comes on the touring models.... not sure if you can special order w/ run flate or not on the other models... this apprears to be a nice feature.... fyi - your vehicle will not come w/ a spare but will come w/ jack and wrench... fyi - no tire shop @ this time has the replacement for tire , nor able to plug like a normal tire (special tire) ....-- you have to go to dealer to get replaced - and when we have had replaced they replaced the whole wheel and tire...... hope that this has help you... jt
