how hard is it to go from a KA24E TO A KA24DE IN AN 89 240SX

i have a 1989 204sx with a shot engine. it will cost about 1200.00 $ to fix. i would rather get a ka24de than fixs a ka24e. know how hard would that swap be does the tranny from the ka24e match the ka24de and would the ecu be the same ,and what other thing would i need to do the swap.

Wiring harness, ECU, bellhousing and a complete engine has to be from 91+ car. I think the tranny will work with just a bellhousing swap.

It would be less then 1200, unless you have the tranny and/or engine rebuilt or start modding it while it's out of the car.

the thing is i think its a waste of time to fix up a ka24e over a ka24de why waste the money

i swaped my ka24de into my 90 and i didnt have to change the bell housing. i paid 500 for the motor 100 for the wiring and ecu, but if your going to swap it out make sure you get new mount its better that way.

i did it on one of the 240's i had, you need to get a DOHC steering pump, and lines, somewires have to be cut and color matched under the dash (were the ECU is)

yeah you need all thats stuff but you ca get it for cheap at your local junkyard. i got my guage cluster for free off the same car the engine came out off . but i still haven't goten the powersteering lines. they were going for like a $100 on ebay soft and hardlines with the reservoir, everything you need basicly, but im sure the junkyard would be cheaper if you have the time and the know how.
