6.5in Woofers in my firebird.

i have the stock monsoon system in my Firebird. there are 2 6.5in woofers on the sides of the backseat. when i listen to rap and there is a low bass note, it sounds like my speakers are bottoming out and the low note sounds like crap. but whenever it plays higher bass notes, it'll sound great. the speakers arnt blown or anything. is it the speakers or the headunit? btw, i have the stock headunit. do they even make aftermarket 6.5in woofers??

Re: 6.5in Woofers in my firebird.

aftermakret 6.5 are some of the most popular. get a aftermarket HU, leave the 6.5s and get a sub or two, i listne to mad rap, and im telling you, a sub makes it so so fresh and so clean clean

Re: 6.5in Woofers in my firebird.

a ghetto rigged one. my source unit is a ghetto cd player that skips if you breath on it. my amp is a Blitz Audio 2260, one channel running to 2 kenwood 6x9s and the other running to 2 RE 12"s. it still bumps pretty good. im working on real HU so i can run full low passed power to the subs.

this is what i had in my 99 TA. just 1 10" sub and it sounded good. you can get these boxes here and there. mtx makes one and some other companies do to. its small and out of the way but gives a solid sound.

also the stock 6.5 speakers are DVC and run at 2 ohms most car stuff is 4 ohm and they will not sound right if you replace them.
