Unhappy Blower and high speed relay

I'm become crazy with my Astro van 1991. I have a problem with the blower at high speed (the last speed). There is a wire color violet to the high speed relay and this wire become very hot and melt, after 2 minutes you can hold the wire because it's too hot. I check the relay and there is a red wire big diameter who have always power, even if the ignition switch is off. If somebody can help me and tell me if the red wire must have always power or only with the ignition on and what's the problem withn the violet wire?
Thank you

If you are melting wires- you are pulling too many amps- due to high resistance- either from a worn out blower motor- that is ready to fail altogether "shortly" or from bad - corroded connections at the blower plug, the ground plug (both ends) or the relay connection.....My guess is the blower motor is on its way out......

Same problems here. Changed blower motor and all is well. $10 from a yard. Have fun changing.
