Need advice/info on Air Bag control of Fuel Line
Working on a 96 Civic that the air bags have gone off in. Dont really like or need the airbags, so would like to cut them out and fix the steering wheel and dash. However its been brought to my attention (hopefully correctly) that when the air bags fire it stops the fuel for safety reasons. SO my questions are:
1) Is this information about the air bags firing and the system cutting the fuel correct? 2) How does the system stop the fuel (ie does it cut power to the fuel pumps or stop the injectors or what.....)? 3) How can i bypass this to at least make the car run? I appreciate in advance any help..... thanks |

Re: Need advice/info on Air Bag control of Fuel Line
i dont recall any wiring diagrams that even show that the srs is connected to the fuel or charging systems at all. 12vs and grounds, other than that, i dont think there is any other wiring.
if it were true, then, i dont see how that explains why i could still fire up my first si when my bags deployed in my first accident.
