Geo Metro FHi 94 turns over, but won't start.

Dear Friends,
I was driving down the freeway when my geo started to slow down even if stepping on the gas. I pulled over and tried to restart it. It would turn over but it wouldn't start. Any pointers will be appreciated.
(Note: A couple of people suggested that the timing belt went bad, i.e. engine is probably now messed up!!)

Your engine is a non interference design so the valves and pistons don t touch, is an easy job around 1-2 hours to change the timing belt, that is f you are good with wrenches.

Easiest way to check a timing belt... pull the distributor cap off, and have someone try to start the engine. If the rotor doesn't move, broken belt. If it does move, put the cap and rotor back on, and then check for fuel delivery and spark.
