New on this board...

I have a Jeep J10. 360 cid. 4.11 Danas. 4WD. Can I adapt a 5 speed to this engine. Like a T-5. I need some lower rpm's for the highway. Any help would be apreciated.

Re: New on this board...

Yes, the T-5 was available in the early 80's on some 6 cyl Jeep CJ models, and will fit your V8.
A stock or mildly modified 360 is fine with a t-5. If yours is thoroughly modified, a T-5 will not be strong enough.

You may need the matching transfer case, too.

If you have a standard trans now, its an easy swap. If you have an auto, you would need to set up a clutch linkage and make sure the rear of the crankshaft had a pilot bushing. This bushing fitting is missing in most auto trans engines, so you need to look for it.
