also, check for codes in the computer using the key on off method. Put the key in the ignition and turn it to on then off then on then off then on, the check engine light will start to flash. Record the number of flashes , for example, the check engine light flashes two times, then pause, then two times then pause, then 5 times then pause then 4 times. All codes are two digits, so this would mean you have a code 22 and a code 54 from the computer.

Have had the same problem for over a year with a 97 grand caravan. Still trying to figure it out. Any luck?
