Dodge Pickup

I have a problem wiht my 1997 Dodge 1500 Ram . the head light go on and off at night while driving. The Head light switch get very hot and i pulled the switch out of the dash and the green wire was very hot and it was burnt and the plastic melted. Any suggestions

I had the same thing happen on my 96 Ram. I changed the light switch and it cured the problem. The guys at the parts house explained why it happened but I can't recall exactly nowadays. I guess it's the old age thing kicking in.

i had the same problem on my 95 , but got a new switch and it fixed it.
