OBD2 DTC P0601 Town and Country

Evening all,

I found these forums searching for information on OBD codes. Hopefully someone can interpret a little more for me! I have a Town and Country that the MIL recently came on. I performed the key activated diagnostic and borrowed a scan tool. Both indicate a P0601 code (the key alone gave me P1684 also). I cleared the codes (I think) with the scan tool and got the MIL to turn on again and re-read P0601 so the error is repeatable. Soo.....

P0601 according to the book is an "Internal Control Module Memory Checksum Error" (Say that 10X fast!!:-))

Which internal control module?

Are there further diagnostics/checks/troublelshooting that could be done prior to replacing (very likely) expensive components?
