the timing belt runs only the cams and the water pump...if you remove PS then it'll free up the V belts/ serpentine belts on most cars and you'll have more power (generally). You can also buy an overdrive (underdrive?? IDK) pulley kit that makes each accessory spin fewer times which is supposed to free up some power...

Its underdrive. And some people would actually advise against changing those, but that's a touchy subject.
