electrical issues

While adding trailer wiring to my 98 Sebring Convertible , I immediately developed the following symptons...brake light does not come on, and when I press down on the brake pedal the "deck" indicator replaces my odometer reading. Also the interior light doesn't work and the radio keeps blinking. Any ideas would be appreciated. All fuses look good.

trailer wiring adapter

Somehow you're backfeeding into your electrical system. Is this harness one that plugs in between a connector, or are you using "scotch" adapters that cut into the wires? If you double checked all the connections, and you've not popped any fuses underdash nor underhood, it's possible you've a bad diode in the harness thats allowing
power to backfeed. The deck ajar when brake pedal is depressed makes me think you may have tapped into the wrong wire. Happens to the best of us. I'd also be checking functions ie, brake, turn, etc with a test light to verifiy inputs are as they should be. Hope this helps.
