Keyless entry?

We bought a 97 Sebring lxi for our daughter. It did not come with a remote key fob. Is there anyway we can tell if this car originally came with one? The manual just says "if equipped".

hi,go to a local dealer,bring the vin# in with you,go to the parts deparment,they can run the vin # and tell you every option in the car,if it had keyless entry,they can sell you new transmitters for about 35.00$ each,then they have to be programmed,

You can also get the FOBs on e-bay and program it yourself. Search the forum and you'll find a few threads on the subject.
