2000 Isuzu Trooper Engine Replacement

Ok...time for a replacement engine. Enough of this oil burn. Question: is it possible to put a diesel in this bad boy? I have to believe that some were available with diesels. If so, where would one go about getting one.

Thanks!
Ed

Re: 2000 Isuzu Trooper Engine Replacement

sure anything is possible. Time, money, and even more money.

you will probably double the cost of putting in a different engine then just going with stock again.

Also, do the math on what it will cost you to keep on adding oil (5 bucks a month?). I would rather spend an extra 60 bucks a year then drop 3-4k for a rebuilt/used enging installed.

Have you tried any of the methods mentioned here and in the FAQ's to reduce oil useage?

There is no direct-fit diesel's avail for troopers built/sold in the US. Heck, you've got an oil burner already! Check amigo-2K's FAQ's if you havent already.
G/luck

Why is it using oil? Is the engine wore out or are you having the typical Trooper oil usage problem? If the latter, what have you done to try to correct it?

Re: 2000 Isuzu Trooper Engine Replacement

I searched his posts and I see he tried sea foam once.

As in the same post joel mentioned about doing a sea foam soak down.

I don't think 1 treatment of sea foam will do much to an oil burner.
