Has replacing this ever helped any Power window problems?

Just wondering if trying a new switch may help my Power windows in my 97 cavalier, Im not about to buy 3 motors with how hard they are to install. Both passenger windows do not respond to the switch, go up or down.

The driver side window operates in small burst, and seems to regenerate power, I know this is the motor. but atleast for those passenger windows is it really likely all 3 motors died? I kind of want to try to get this switch.

It could be. Be prepared to be screwed by the dealer for a new one. I thought my switch was bad and the dealer wanted $85 for a new one...and that was just a 2-window switch.

I just replaced both motors in my new-to-me 97 Convertible. Both were shot. After I got them in, the passenger side worked correctly, but the driver side wouldn't go up, only down. I could have swore it was the switch that was the problem, but it ended up being the battery which was on it's last legs. Replaced the battery and it worked perfectly.

Before buying a new switch, measure the voltage at the motor. Ground the black leg to a piece of bare metal and then touch each one of the contacts on the wire side of the connector. One side should read 12V when going down, and the other side should read 12V when going up. If you have 12V both ways, it's your motor. If you don't have voltage, then go back to the switch and back probe the connector there. Match the wire colors up and test again. If you still don't have voltage, make sure you actually have 12V coming in on one of the wires (you should since 1 window works).
