Question I need some help!

Okay, so I'm driving home from work yesterday and all of the sudden my Check Engine light comes on. My car is running fine and nothing has been messing up or anything like that. My car did just hit 61,000 miles and it seems like the light came on right when my odometer got to 61,000 miles. Is this something Honda did to remind you that it's time to get your car serviced or something? I hope it is because I don't want to have to take my Lude to the garage.

I know that the 98+ Accords do that because my ex g/f had a 99 Accord V6 and it did that at 30000,60000,90000 and so on. Good luck on finding the problem.

The 5G preludes have a seperate little light for 'service required' - it's the little one at the bottom of the speedo that changes from green to yellow to red.

If the CEL is on, the ECU thinks something is wrong. Turn off the car, short the test connector under the passenger side center kick panel with a wire or paperclip, turn on the car (but don't start it) and read out the ECU code. The CEL will blink slow for the 10s digits and fast for the 1s digits. Post the code here & somebody will look it up for you. It'll tell you what the ECU thinks is wrong.
