How do I change dew wipes?

This is my next fix..... the Outside dew wipe on both the passenger and drivers side door. Tried to do this over the weekend, had the door panel off and the indoor wipe off.... noticed you can't get to 2 or 3 of the screws holding the wipe on. Do I need to take the window out of the door to take this off and replace it? One more fix for this thread, the brake dinging and light keep coming on everytime any movement with the ebrake in it's unengaged position. Should I loosen up the cable slightly to prevent this? Thanks yall

Re: How do I change dew wipes?

www.rodneydickman.com sells a "special" tool that will give you access to the dew wipe screws. Otherwise you can take out the window to access the screws. Click on the GALLERY" to see the first photo. The inside door panel was removed and the glass is shifted out of the way to gain access to the screws.

Re: How do I change dew wipes?

There is a small limit switch inside the parking brake lever housing that turns on the brake light, yours must be loose or broken from it's mount, causing a false trigger of the light. You'll have to take the plastic trim off to get at it. It's possible you can fix it with some good 'ol JB weld, otherwise it's a phone call to Kick Hill to dig up a replacement.

Why is it I see so many "Proud to be an American" bumper stickers on the backs of cars made in Japan or Korea??????
