96 Metro 1.3 timing belt off 2 degrees
I just recently bought a geo metro from a used car salesman for $800. It is a 96 and has just over 100k on it. The only problem with the car right now is that it will start up, but will not run properly. It sort of sputters and sounds generally like the timing is off. I have no idea of how to fix a timing belt, but I have bought one, and a haynes manual. I intend on following the instructions in the manual, but before I do, does anyone have any pointers for me? Things that I should not do or watch out for? Can anyone who has replaced a timing belt before give me some clear direction step by step on what to do?
any help would be appreciated! |
