Re: smog

What do you mean by all of the smog stuff? What exactly are you doing to the car?

Re: smog

If you have the stock 350 with 160hp you might get 180 - 190. But it'll run a lot better. After you do it just get it dynoed to be sure.

Re: smog

Definately do not remove the pcv, it helps the gases that get caught in the crankcase to recirculate and get burned in the engine, if those gases stay there they can cause the oil to become a little bit corrosive and damage your engine. The EGR I would keep also because it helps controls engine temperature and also helps your fuel economy. If your inclined too you can remove the egr, but I would definately keep the pcv. Removing that won't cause any power increase because it's ran off of a vacuume line iirc. The air pump just gives air to the exaust and allows combustion even after it leaves the cylinders to help burn the extra fuel that wasn't consumed during combustion to make emmisons better. If I'm wrong guys please correct me.

"The air pump just gives air to the exaust and allows combustion even after it leaves the cylinders to help burn the extra fuel that wasn't consumed during combustion to make emmisons better" I tkaes power to spin that pump. Take it off and your freeing up power, but worsening emissions.

All in all, do be prepared for the fact that your car might run worse with the emissions equipment off it. Everything was designed to work together from the factory. I was a big believer in taking off all the pollution devices until I had trouble with getting a 350 to pass the local emissions testing.
