98 Caravan A/C clutch off and on

After starting engine and turning on A/C the clutch turns itself off and on continuously. This causes the belt to slip and ruin. A/C guage was reading app. 25 psi so I added 2 cans of freon and guage now reads 35 psi at idle. Clutch still kicks off and on??

About 30 seconds for both on and off.

Might be the pressure transducer - it's an item located on the H-Block.

It is suppose to cycle, but maybe not that often? I understand there is a high pressure switch that may be your problem? On my 95 the guy said it was that on the left side of the rad as you are looking in. Seems you have some switchin prob if it is cycleing that much?

Sounds normal to me . This is not abnormal cycling , it has to cycle otherwise the evaporator will freeze up .

depends on the speed of the fan motor. If it's running at speed one, then yes it's going to cycle like that to prevent evap core freeze-up. If it's doing it on speed 3 or even high, then there could be a low charge in the system or even a bad pressure transducer.
